Another long day. Up early in the morning and to Cable Factory. Nothing alarming, no real problems (First Worlds problems don't count) and very little drama (but some, of course, without drama life would be boring, right?).
I had only one program item for the day and this I could've phoned in. Give Tom Crosshill a word and he'll return to you a full story. And reads a lovely tale on the side. Then again, he did say, that he'd read about half an hour and I'd have some 10-15 minutes to fill with questions. Easy, hah! Except Tom read for full twelve (12) minutes. "So, this national epic of yours, any good?"
And then I did manage to muck up a bit, since I had convinced myself that the basement floor rooms had Everything already in place. Well, they did. most of everything. But, not, like sound systems. Sorry about that. Two film programs taking place simultaneously, one set of speakers for the job. Time for Techman! Superb job, even if I had to fix the scart myself.
Great day and the rest of the programming I saw was very nice. I mean, great!
And then there was the evening party. I'm told, that what happened at the evening party, stays at the evening party, but I'd be very surprised if that would be the case. My lips are sealed.
Except they're not. I'm the Guest of Honour at next year's Finncon in Jyväskylä and did they ever gave me a prezzie worth its weight in gold. A singular t-shirt of Awesomeness! There should be pictures somewhere, eventually. I'm humbled and grateful. I LOVE it!
I saw, talked and hello'ed too many people in order to remember them all, but a HUGE Thank You to all of you for making this Finncon such a brilliant experience for a conrunner. This is the reason I am a FAN. Money cannot buy this here.
One more day to go. Another great fannish experience awaits.
